Wiz Khalifa


Wiz Khalifa, born Cameron Jibril Thomaz (Minot (North Dakota), 8 september 1987), is an American rapper.

 
Thomaz's parents, who divorced when he was three years old, worked in the U.S. Army. Through the work of his parents had arranged to move the young Thomaz. He lived successively in Germany, Japan, England and Pittsburgh. [1] He attended Taylor Allderdice High School. [2] 

When he was nine years old, began Thomaz to write raps and at age twelve, he took the first songs. [1] His friends called him "Whiz" and later he himself "Wiz" as its name. [1] He signed with local record label Rostrum Records in 2006, his first mixtape released, titled Prince of the City: Welcome to Pistolvania. [1]

 
After several other mixtapes and the album Show and Prove to have cast, signed in 2006 by Warner Bros. Thomaz. Records. He did not reap success with his first single, [3] "Say Yeah" in 2007, which he used a sample of an Alice DeeJay song. [1]

 
He signed a contract with Atlantic Records and by the Norwegian two Stargate-produced single "Black & Yellow" was in 2010 a big hit in the United States. [3] He reached the number 1 position on Billboard Hot 100 and the fifth place in the United Kingdom Singles Chart. The song is about his hometown Pittsburgh. [4] The accompanying video clip was more than one hundred and twenty million times on YouTube. [4]

 
In 2010 Thomaz was the Beacon Watching Tour. A performance at the East Carolina University on September 9, 2010 was interrupted by the police; Thomaz and several others were arrested for possession, use and sale of marijuana. The next day he was released again after paying a deposit of three hundred thousand dollars. [2]

 
The title of his third studio album, Rolling Papers, which in 2011 was released by Atlantic Records, refers to rolling up joints. To promote this album, he held an American tour, entitled the Green Carpet Tour. A press release gave the explanation that name hit the biodiesel from the coach and the biodegradable and recyclable materials backstage were used, but journalists thought that "Green Carpet" had to do with his marijuana use. In early 2011 took Thomaz with Snoop Dogg song "This Weed is Mine" (Snoop Dogg appeared on the album Doggumentary) [7] and "That Good" on. [8] The two rappers are planning a film making, entitled Mac and Devin go to High School, with smoking weed as the main theme. [7] The album Rolling Papers stood in second place in the Billboard 200 and the sixth in the Canadian Albums Chart.

 
Thomaz on 1 March engaged to model Amber Rose, she showed a picture of her engagement ring seen on Twitter. Thomaz is also personal friends with Snoop Dogg, Juicy J, Yelawolf and Mac Miller
