Calvin Harris

Calvin Harris (born Adam Richard Wiles, Dumfries, 17 January 1984) is a Scottish producer of electronic music. His debut single "Acceptable in the 80's" reached # 10 on the Single-charts in Britain and was also a lot of airplay on the radio and music channels like MTV.

His next single, "The Girls", was released early June 2007. In 2011 he came back with singles that scored well in the charts. Examples here are Feel So Close and Bounce, a collaboration with Kelis. He also worked together on the new album Talk That Talk of Rihanna. The single work which they called We Found Love in many countries and was a No. 1 hit.

Harris says he has no DJ experience, so therefore he plays live with a band, where he is the singer (instead of that he alone stands behind a mixer).

Using an Amiga computer and software OctaMED for his "sound".

According to a BBC report and a blog on his MySpace profile, Harris works with Kylie Minogue on her new album after he caught the attention of a producer, that Harris' data passed to Kylie.

Harris has also worked with Róisín Murphy for her latest album Overpowered, released in October 2007. But he said in an interview with Popjustice confirmed that none of the songs which he has helped, used on the album.

Harris has performed in shows for Faithless during their tour of Britain, which he could give a performance at the Global Gatthering Dance Music Festival this year. He would also be the support act Groove Armada, during their tour of Britain in May. Also in May, he gave the first performance on the main stage at BBC Radio 1's "Big Weekend" event.

In November 2010 gave Harris to stop his live performances. This is because he is dissatisfied with his singing. Calvin says no singer, but a DJ. A role as a singer is not for him to play, but because his own vocals insprak, Harris was also during his live acts sing. Or Calvin also stops live performances without even singing is not yet clear.

Nor did he stop making albums. In the future, he will focus on collaborating with other artists, and the release of individual songs.

In October 2011 came Calvin Harris opening for Rihanna doing her LOUD Tour at the Sportpaleis in Antwerp.

Here he stood alone behind his kit. In 2011 came his singles Bounce, a collaboration with Kelis, and Feel So Close. These were both very well received by critics.

Also, We Found Love, a collaboration with Rihanna, was released in September. This was the first single from RiRi's 6th studio album, Talk That Talk. He is also collaborating on the song Where Have You Been on that same album. That song will be released as the 5th single from the album.
