Kenneth Eric Church (born May 3, 1977 in North Carolina) is an American country music singer and songwriter.
Church dates from Granite Falls, North Carolina. At age 13 he wrote his first songs and taught himself to play guitar.
During his school years at Appalachian State College, he joined with his brother and two friends as Mountain Boys in the west of the state on. After completing his degree in marketing, he went to the country capital Nashville. There he took a year until he got a record deal.
First Church wrote songs for other musicians before he released his first album in 2006. Sinners Like Me was an immediate success, it reached the Top 10 U.S. country albums and produced three Top 20 hits produced in the country song charts. Album and singles could be placed in the general charts.
Three years passed after that until his second album, Carolina. With 4th place in the country charts and number 17 in the official sales charts, he could build on the success of his debut.
