Adele

Adele Laurie Blue Adkins (London, May 5, 1988) is an English pop singer.

In 2008 she broke the general public with her 19 and the album and singles Chasing Pavements Make You Feel My Love. In 2010 she scored hits with the singles Rolling in the Deep, Set Fire to the Rain and Someone Like You.

Adele graduated in May 2006 for the BRIT school, which prepares Performing Arts. Later that year she toured with include Raul Midón, Amos Lee, Keren Ann by Britain as a support act and at festivals. In 2007 Adele began a solo tour of England. She also took a demo, let him hear a friend of her friend and put her songs on Myspace. In the Netherlands this meant her big break. It became a # 1 hit in the Single Top 100. The debut album 19 was very successful, it was 8 weeks at number 1 and a year later the best selling album.

Also in 2008 she signed a joint venture with Columbia Records and XL Records and then she went to the United States with her music. There was a short tour through North America and then her album was even released there. On 18 October 2008 she was a guest on the program Saturday Night Live, which many people watched Sarah Palin because another guest that night was. The next day the album from Adele immediately at No. 1 on iTunes.

On February 8, 2009 Adele won two Grammy Awards, for best newcomer and best female artist. Furthermore, she received two more nominations for a Grammy and she was also nominated for three Brit Awards.

On January 21, 2011 Adele brought her second album, titled 21. The first single from this album, Rolling in the Deep, holds twice the number 1 position in the Dutch Top 40 and in the Netherlands was the biggest selling single of 2011 [2]. The second single was released Set Fire to the Rain, the song was the most played album on Dutch radio in 2011. [3]

On February 20, 2011 they performed something the Beatles in 1964 also failed. She stood in parallel with two singles (Rolling in the Deep at number 4 and Someone Like You at number 1) in the United Kingdom Singles Chart and 2 albums (21 in number 1 and number 19 on 2) in the British album chart.

On February 12, 2012 Adele won six Grammy Awards, including for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Album of the Year.
